Have a broad array of your brand/product colors. Itemise these in some way. Here is an example:
Using the components panel and layer styles you can set this file up as a library in which all of your design use. For example. The logo’s within this document would not have a random colour fill, they would pull from swatches and styles within this library. This logo is set up as a symbol with overrides.
Keep in mind, nothing will ever be the same from business to business, project to project. This was a great base that I was then able to evolve to suit my organisations needs. Creating something from scratch sounds amazing, but in most cases unrealistic under time constraints. Why reinvent the wheel when you can simply adapt it to fit your needs.
